Hey , Thanks for the peek behind the curtain!! Also take a look at ATI. I believe you highlighted this stock earlier. I had great run with 10 call options on it.
Now you know not to use stops like that. How many times have you placed a stop and gotten stopped out only to see the stock go in the direction you thought it was going all along. I don’t trade with stops just for that very reason. Once in a while I have been burned by not having stops but, the pain of a slightly larger loss due to no stops is far less than the pain of losing a big winning trade because I got stopped out just before the underlying made its big move.
The same thing happened to me on Real Goods Solar Energy (RGSE). I bot it on 12-28’17. At first it did nothing then it started drifting lower – and lower. I decided it was hopeless and sold it for a 21% loss on 1-16’18. It went as high as a 12% gain as I watched from the sidelines. Frustrating!!!
At the lowest low from the breakout place the A for a fib retracement to the highest high of the breakout for B and watch the market to form a C and determine where the D of the ABCD pattern is located.
Thank you for sharing .
