Blindly buying a stock on the back of an analyst upgrade can be a dangerous strategy. Depending on how far a stock has run into the upgrade, a broker upgrade can sometimes get the smart money crowd to sell into the news, thus putting the stock in reverse. A successful stock upgrade needs the stock to stick its landing or risk reversing course. Here are my thoughts.
