The Russell 2000 is still flat in terms of performance year to date while the S&P 500 is up around 9%. The Russell is often a leading indicator and a better representation of the strength of the US economy. Traders would however be wise not to automatically short the Russell 2000, more clarity and patience is needed. Don’t jump the gun.
